Nikkei
Saham Tokyo menguat pada hari Kamis (31/8) didukung oleh kenaikan di Wall Street.
Indeks acuan Nikkei 225 bertambah 0,88 persen, atau 285,88 poin, menjadi 32.619,34, sedangkan Indeks Topix yang lebih luas naik 0,80 persen, atau 18,62 poin, menjadi 2.332,00.
Hang Seng
Saham Hong Kong dan Shanghai melemah pada hari Kamis (31/8) karena optimisme Federal Reserve akan menunda kenaikan suku bunga dibayangi oleh data yang menyoroti lemahnya perekonomian Tiongkok.
Indeks Hang Seng turun 0,55 persen atau 100,80 poin ke level 18.382,06.
Indeks Shanghai Composite juga melemah 0,55 persen atau 17,26 poin ke level 3.119,88, sedangkan Indeks Shenzhen Composite di bursa kedua Tiongkok merosot 0,58 persen atau 11,39 poin pada level 1.947,48.
Emas
Emas berjangka berakhir lebih rendah pada hari Kamis ( 31/8) karena ukuran inflasi pilihan Federal Reserve menunjukkan kenaikan untuk bulan Juli, berkontribusi terhadap kerugian bulanan lebih dari 2%.
Emas untuk pengiriman Desember turun $7,10, atau 0,4%, yang menetap di $1,965.90 per ons, setelah berakhir pada hari Rabu di level tertinggi sejak 4 Agustus. Harga untuk kontrak paling aktif mencatat kerugian sebesar 2,2% untuk bulan tersebut, menurut Dow Jones Data pasar.
Perak untuk pengiriman Desember turun 29 sen, atau 1,2%, menjadi $24,81 per ons, berakhir 0,6% lebih rendah bulan ini.
Tembaga untuk bulan Desember menetap di $3,82 per pon, turun 0,6% pada sesi tersebut dan kehilangan 4,6% pada bulan tersebut.
Platinum untuk pengiriman Oktober turun 0,9% menjadi $974,40 per ons, berakhir hampir 1,7% lebih tinggi untuk bulan tersebut, sementara paladium untuk pengiriman Desember turun 0,8% menjadi $1,218.70 per ons, menandai kerugian bulanan sebesar 4,5%.
Emas berjangka berakhir lebih rendah pada hari Kamis setelah pembacaan indeks pengeluaran konsumsi pribadi AS bulan Juli menunjukkan kenaikan sebesar 0,2%, sesuai dengan perkiraan para ekonom yang disurvei oleh The Wall Street Journal. Namun inflasi secara keseluruhan merangkak lebih tinggi dan tetap tertahan di atas 3%.
Dengan latar belakang tersebut, dolar AS menguat, dengan indeks ICE Dolar AS naik 0,4% pada 103,594 pada transaksi hari Kamis, sehingga menekan harga emas dalam mata uang dolar.
Minyak
Minyak berjangka AS berakhir di level tertingginya dalam sekitar tiga pekan pada hari Kamis (31/8), yang mendapat dukungan dari ekspektasi akan berkurangnya pasokan global dalam beberapa bulan mendatang.
Kenaikan sesi ini menyumbang kenaikan bulanan sebesar 2,2% untuk minyak mentah West Texas Intermediate bulan depan, menurut Dow Jones Market Data. Kontrak WTI bulan Oktober naik $2, atau hampir 2,5%, pada sesi ini dan menetap di $83,63 per barel di New York Mercantile Exchange, penutupan bulan depan tertinggi sejak 9 Agustus.
