Emas Tertekan oleh Sikap Suku Bunga The Fed yang Lebih Tinggi untuk Jangka Panjang

Harga emas tergelincir pada hari Senin (25/9) saat dolar dan imbal hasil Treasury AS menguat karena sikap Federal Reserve yang hawkish terhadap suku bunga jangka panjang.

Emas di pasar spot turun 0,5% pada $1,915.61 per ons, sementara emas berjangka AS ditutup 0,5% lebih rendah pada $1,936.6.

“Fed yang sedikit hawkish dan bank sentral global saat ini menekan emas,” kata Everett Millman, kepala analis pasar di Gainesville Coins.

Millman memperkirakan harga akan diperdagangkan antara $1.910 dan $1.950 untuk sisa kuartal ini.

Para pejabat The Fed pada hari Jumat memperingatkan mengenai kenaikan suku bunga lebih lanjut bahkan setelah pemungutan suara untuk mempertahankan suku bunga acuan tetap stabil pada minggu lalu, dengan tiga pembuat kebijakan mengatakan mereka masih tidak yakin apakah perang terhadap inflasi telah berakhir.

Emas cenderung berkinerja buruk ketika suku bunga yang lebih tinggi meningkatkan imbal hasil aset-aset safe-haven saingannya seperti obligasi AS.

Indeks dolar naik 0,3%, sementara imbal hasil obligasi pemerintah AS bertenor 10 tahun mendekati puncaknya dalam 16 tahun.(mrv)
